Shahna Lax is a Jewish mystic who has been creating acid-etched copperwork illuminations for sacred spaces in Crestone, Colorado since 2002. Judeo-Islamic geometries, archetypal symbols and sacred texts are common features in her illuminations. Most of her larger copperworks incorporate intricate internal cutwork which increases the feeling of dimensionality and light.
Shahna is a member of the American Guild of Judaic Art. She has exhibited nationally and has been a featured artist in Copper in the Arts online journal, Faith and Form magazine – interfaith journal on Religion, Art and Architecture and Quadrant – Journal of the C.G.
