New Shelving in the Sanctuary!

MIL GRACIAS to Rabbi MIn for donating this gorgeous shelving unit to Nahalat Shalom!

If you have ever tried to take Siddurs or the Pentateuch/Haftorah books off of the old shelves, then you realize how often the shelves would fall off of their holders and (sometimes) drop their contents onto the floor. The new shelving is sturdy and beautiful!

New Cooler for the Nahalat Shalom Office!

The evaporative cooler above the office was becoming more rust than metal and one of our NS friends was able to find a free cooler for us that is larger than the old cooler! Many thanks to John Butler of Butler of Butler Sheet Metal, for donating the cooler, Rupert (pictured below installing the cooler), and Sean for connecting us with John and Rupert.

Let there be light!

Back in March, Nahalat Shalom was gifted with track lighting for the Gallery. This lighting was installed by our own Hershel Weiss under the careful guidance of Leo Neufeld, who made sure that the lumens, the distance from the wall, and the angle of the lights was optimal for presenting artwork.

If you haven’t seen the lighting yet, drop by Nahalat Shalom during the week, Tuesday through Thursday, from 10 to 4, or during one of the weekend services to check out the new lighting!

Bayt B'racha New Roof - Chapter 2: The work begins

At long last a new roof is being installed on the Bayt B’racha. The great workers from Synergy Builders began working early Thursday morning and will be finished either late in the Friday OR on Saturday morning. The began by removing all of the old layers of roofing right down to the decking, then they added foam to both contour the roof for proper drainage (and also adds thermal insulation), then the TPO membrane is installed.

FOYER CLEANUP - Art Committee

Many thanks to our outstanding Art Committee for making our foyer beautiful!

The Art Committee, Ann Abrams, Robin Berman, and Lisa Jacobs, has been meeting regularly to locate and update the Nahalat Shalom art catalog, and to identify areas that can use some sprucing up. Often an art piece looks new when it is moved to a new location, so over the next few months you will see some art move, some stored art placed on display, and some new items pop up around our campus!

Bayt B'racha New Roof - Chapter 1

After many months of receiving contractor quotes, working on finances, and finally getting on the contractors schedule for the work to begin, the roof is happening April 18, 19, 20. More photos of the actual work to come over the next week!
