Nahalat Shalom members are are invited to attend Social Action Committee Meetings. We are dedicated to taking action on pressing social and political issues in the local community. Some of those issues that we’ve already begun, and will continue to, discuss are: supporting the upcoming NM Health Security Act, familiarizing ourselves with possible upcoming criminal justice and anti-terrorism bills in the Legislature, and in our desire to be a respectful ally with the Black Lives Movement exploring how to initiate that relationship, i.e. perhaps holding a webinar for the congregation with local activists. Our meeting agenda always remains open for new ideas. We are thus far six people and would be thrilled to have more! For this kind of work, there is more strength in numbers. Please join us.
