The Joy of Jewish Dance shares the incredible breadth of this ancient and modern dance form that spans the globe and history. From Yemenite, Sephardic, Ethiopian, Hasidic, Klezmer and Israeli Folk, Bruce illuminates gestures, stylings, steps and historical context with great care and knowledge. Dances include traditional Yemenite, Sephardic, Ethiopian, Hassidic, Klezmer and the classic gems of Israeli folk dance. Bruce will also share his creative movement practices with the Hebrew Letters that his teacher, the legendary Yiddish Theater choreographer, Felix Fibich--handed down to him.
We are very excited and fortunate that Bruce’s husband and professional dancer Gilberto Melendez will be joining us for this workshop and throughout the weekend!!
