Pot luck dinner with poetry, songs and prayers in Ladino, Hebrew and Spanish. Led by Sofie Shefia Stephanie Cohen. Candle lighting at 6:30.
We conclude our three-month exploration of the poetry of Algerian born Erez Bitton, the first Mizrahi poet to receive the Israel Prize in Literature. His parents, originally from Morocco, moved to Israel in 1948 with Erez.
This month’s bilingual reading features “Moroccan Wedding”, translated to Spanish by Héctor Contreras López and Marciel Romero. Everyone will have an opportunity to share their reactions to this great poem.
If you are able, please show up early and or stay late to help set up and clean up. And bring a vegetarian dish to share!
