Many modern Jews have difficulty with a God concept because they cannot accept the anthropomorphic view of God presented in the Bible and Siddur. The questions are: What are our alternatives and where can we find them in Jewish tradition? What do modern, faithful Jews of sophisticated learning and thinking teach us? Does it matter whether we can find a view of God that we can affirm? What are the practical ramifications of "finding one's God"? We will pursue these and related questions in both ancient and contemporary texts and engage in personal discussion.
