Edie Valencia Brown (Natanya Barack,) daughter of member Ella Brown and granddaughter of member Barbara Friedman is called to the torah for her Bat Mitzvah. Edie’s family has a long history with Nahalat Shalom and are excited and happy to celebrate her hard work. All are welcome to join in this celebration.

Edie is a high school freshman and and enjoys art, theater, and relaxing with friends. For her mitzvah project Edie volunteered with Animal Humane of New Mexico, reading to shy cats in the Page Pals Program in an effort to help socialize them and support successful adoptions. She is fundraising for Animal Humane as well. When not volunteering or at school, Edie works as a printer's apprentice.
