Let us welcome the arrival of the Sabbath Bride by chanting sacred phrases together, as we let go of the week that was and, in the silence after the chant, receive the blessings of Shabbat.

We will be chanting chants from our teacher Rabbi Shefa Gold, and considering the teachings of parsha V’etchanan, where God directs Moses to get some perspective. Following Tisha b’Av, we will appreciate that we can join together to mourn and support each other and to send healing prayers.

Chanting Kabbalat Shabbat will meet in the sanctuary at Nahalat Shalom. You may CLICK HERE for the chant sheet though it’s not necessary to know the chants beforehand. The service will be co-led by Judy Brown and Sofie Shefia Stephanie Cohen, who look forward to hearing all of our voices joining in generosity.
