Please join us as we celebrate Shabbat in the Sephardic tradition. Sofie Shefia will lead us in song and prayer, joined by Hershel Weiss, one of the founding organizers. The evening includes an opportunity for everyone to share from their heart, and bilingual readings of Sephardic poetry, presented by writer, researcher, teacher and translator Héctor Contreras López. In January, February and March we are focusing on the poetry of Ruth Behar, a contemporary Cuban American writer. This month we will read "Nameless Daughter" by Ruth Behar" . Ruth has joined us for the last two months, and we expect her to attend again this month!
