Sukkot Celebration (in person only)

SUKKOT IS HERE!

Join Nahalat Shalom’s Simcha School in putting up the community sukkah, Sunday October 13th, from 10 am to 12:30 pm. Bring schach, however you spell it, the greenery we need for the roof. Bring decorations, and your Sukkot energy. This is a community event so we hope you all will come, lend a hand and share a vegetarian potluck lunch.

The following Saturday, October 19th, a special Sukkot Shabbat service will be led by Nathan and Angelina Lopez-Brody with lunch provided by Batya Podos.

Let’s shake the lulav and welcome in a Festival that connects us to harvest and the natural world.

Cheder Religious School: Cheder will lead a Day of Service.

This year we will be serving our own community with a day of working in the garden and grounds, and inside the building to take care of our shul. We’re inviting community members to join us from 10 am to noon. Our students will provide some warm food and we invite you to bring some as well so we can “brunch” together before we end at noon.

Key components of our program include: Holiday Customs and Rituals; Mitzvot; Torah; Jewish Values; Prayer and Service; Social Justice; Hebrew; · Jewish Culture, music, and crafts.
