High Holiday Service Schedule
Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur Services led by Reb Rivkah Coburn with Cantor Beth Cohen and Maggid Batya Podos. All are welcome to join us. Tickets are not required.
Led by Cantor Beth Cohen, Maggidah Batya Podos, Alavados Holy Days Ensemble & Rikud Dancers.
“Selichot” is from the Hebrew word “Selicha” meaning forgiveness. The plural ending refers to the prayers and poems that are said during the month of Elul leading up to Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur (and also on other Jewish fast days). Our service includes many of the traditional Selichot prayers as well as contemporary prayers, songs, chants, poems and readings. Many of us will wear white to symbolize purity. PLEASE BRING YOUR SHOFAR to sound the Tekiah G’dolah at the end of the service. Members of Rikud dancers will be leading dances to some of the prayers and dancing is optional. Bring a nosh for yourself or to share if you wish.

Bring a flashlight and plan to arrive at 6:00am to begin the climb up the volcano so we can begin our service at 6:30am. Shofars and drums are welcome.
To get to the Sunrise Service at the Volcanoes Day Use Area (on the west side of Petroglyph National Monument), take I-40 west from Albuquerque. Take Exit 149, Atrisco Vista Blvd, and go 4.8 mi north to reach the Volcanoes Access Road. Turn right and continue in to the parking area.
Join Maggidah Batya Podos and Cantor Beth Cohen for the Children's Service at 9:00 a.m. on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. We’ll sing, dance, tell stories, and explore the deeper meaning of the holidays with a child-friendly focus.
We do not require membership, tickets, or fees. Donations are appreciated.

Tashlich (casting off ritual) led by Cantor Beth Cohen & Maggidah Batya Podos.
We will sing prayers, stories, share and meditate. Then we will select sticks, branches, leaves and rocks to represent our “missing the mark” over the past year(s) and cast them in the water. Please do not bring bread crumbs or any type of food to throw into the river.
Meet at Tingley Beach Overlook of The Rio Grande. Take the path on the west side of the northern parking lot (just south of Central Ave.) and go west to the deck at the river. Wear hat, sunscreen, comfortable walking shoes, and weather appropriate clothing.
Will start with a nosh as we return from Tashlich at the River.
Reb Rivkah Coburn will guide us though an embodied spirit movement practice to renew the heart.
