As our ancestors were slaves in the land of Egypt, or fleeing the pogroms of eastern Europe, or other trials and tribulations in the history of hate, we at Nahalat Shalom strongly empathize with refugees, asylees, young people being told to return to countries they have never known, and parents being torn from their children. We stand with other faith communities in taking action to support and protect. Though not able to provide sanctuary, we can help those who are in sanctuary in this city.
This committee, chaired by Alice Rearden, is looking for other members who wish to build solidarity with diverse congregations to increase protection and inclusion of at-risk populations. If interested in becoming part of this committee, please contact Nahalat Shalom with your requests by sending an email to office@nahalatshalom.org
